Robotic Arm

To briefly introduce ourselves, we are embedded engineers from Crevavi Techologies located in the beautiful city of Belagavi, Karnataka.

We as a team are always excited to learn about microcontrollers, about motor drivers, about motors, and to drive payloads at a reaching distance, so that we can gain domain knowledge in mechatronics and drive our company strategy in automotive and robotics domain.

This project is a Robotics demonstrator project. The hardware includes a Maxon motor, which is used for example Space applications like the Mars Land rover project, due to its exceptional torque-to-weight ratio. Here we used a ST microcontroller, a motor driver, an LCD display, and an ultrasonic distance sensor, and lift a payload of 4 kg at a certain reaching distance.

The Block diagram of Robotics Demonstrator Project is shown in figure.

To lift the payload, we have set a target height of 20 cm. Initially, the object’s distance from the ground, as displayed on the LCD, was 63 cm. The current distance during the lifting phase is 43 cm, resulting in a lifted distance of 20 cm.

For the dropping phase, we have targeted a descent of 10 cm. The initial distance was 43 cm, and the current distance during the dropping phase is 53 cm, resulting in a drop distance of 10 cm.

We believe, this effort of ours will ignite curiosity and creativity amongst the young engineers to create inspiring products.

We would like to build upon this knowledge to see how we can use this project for Robotics applications.

Would be great if all of us join hands and come together to automate hazardous jobs using robots and  use them in factories, in agriculture, in medicine and other fields.
